Our return adventure from Baru wasn't as interesting.  The rope toting, children toll operators must not work on holidays {Cartagena Independence Day}, but we still had to cross the ferry.

Our afternoon included a trip to the store to stock up on supplies for Thanksgiving dinner.  Early on, before any surprises were revealed, we had decided to have a Thanksgiving feast while my parents were visiting. I had purchased a small turkey from Price Smart for the occasion.  After sharing a quick course on getting by with Colombia ingredients, {my wise mother was quick with alternative ingredients} we made our way back to the apartamento for a relaxing afternoon, including a competitive game of Monopoly on the ipad.

In the evening while the boys watched the Chiefs take the lead for the first time this season, the ladies made pies in preparation for the Thanksgiving feast.

Football and pies is about as close to Thanksgiving as you can get in Colombia...
