a visit from the grandparents

Last week my parents came to visit Lauren us.

We had a great week that included

lots of books,

My dad stayed with Lauren while my mother and I attended the Nutcracker Market.
Papa took Lauren to her first movie,
The Peanuts Movie.
{we let her watch The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, which developed into a thing for the Peanuts gang}
We weren't exactly sure how this would turn out,
but it was a huge success.

She sat, still, the entire time,
smiled throughout,
and wouldn't let him get up to leave until the last credit came across the screen.

It was a pretty special memory and she is still talking about it.

We created another special week full of memories
and
I think Grandma & Papa soaked up this special time with Lauren,
because the next time they visit
she'll be promoted...

week 33

33weeks

We're getting closer...
and that hospital tour we went on
brought back a lot of memories.

Some of the more real memories of this whole 'labor & delivery' thing.

But the closer we get,
the more memories I have of that little newborn stage that goes
so fast.

And in case I haven't mentioned it yet,
I think Baby #2 is a boy.

I called it wrong with Lauren and I could be mistaken again,
but I did recently pick up a little vintage airplane for the nursery...

Just in case.

Halloween 2015

halloween2015

It's amazing how different this Halloween was from last year...
she understood so much more,
was involved in the pumpkins, the decor, the costume, and the candy,
which made it fun for the whole family.

The rain put a slight damper on our trick-or-treating, but we made the best of it.
She would practice saying 'trick or treat' all the way to the door followed by a thank you
and went completely silent when a person finally came to the door.
The second we walked away, she was digging into her bag to find the best treat.
And then demanding that we show it to dad
{who was handing out candy}
So we covered a lot of ground,
by walking to a house, then back to our house to show dad the sucker,
then another house, then our house to show dad the treat bag,
yet we only went to a few houses.

And finally getting to eat that sucker that she had been eyeing all night,
put on her Halloween jammers,
and watch It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

That brought a big Halloween smile to our little cows face.
