at the moment this is the only picture I have access to that was taken in Nashville
because I,
the girl who decided she was going to take a picture
every day for an entire year,
had too much fun to take any pictures

thankfully my leena ballerina did....

- my husband booked a ticket to come to America... we shall meet again
- I'm heading to Nashville this weekend for reunions, birthday celebrations, and a lot of Broadway
{did I mention leena ballerina is going to be my sidekick?}
- my calendar has more traveling including a trip to Kentucky for some horse races and a gals weekend in Chicago

this girl had a big day
she got her staples out
as in one needle nose pliers plucked each one out
one by one
with no pain meds
bless her murmured heart
on a positive note
the doctor was quite pleased with her healing thus far
including the amount of weight she is putting on her leg
he even told us based on her progress we could skip our next check up
and come back in 6 weeks for the x-ray and release to normal activity
until then
i've got a stubborn boxer on my hands
who is feeling much better
and not buying into this
no stairs
no running
no jumping
business
bless my impatient heart...

some other good news: after 75 days straight of work Matt enjoyed his first days off
yes
days

the first time I spotted them I thought they were hideous
that was two years ago

a few months ago i spotted them in a magazine
styled with a cute&casual pair of capris
and let's face it
my ama de casa wardrobe revolves around cute & casual
{emphasis on casual}
I'll give anything a try
especially when it has to do with purchasing shoes and helping a child

We've moved on to a new cone.
78.366
{obviously it's not brand new from the look of the jowl juice..
we got it last week and out of the three we've tried, this one is the winner}
I assumed the clear cone would make Bella feel better since she would be able to see out.
However, at this point I believe that the statement just makes me feel better.
Bella feels the same about the cone regardless of its color, shape, or material.
See.

One more week with the cone, Bella.
Just one more week...

{and to make the week that much more exciting, Miss Bella has discovered how to remove the cone while hanging out in her crate}

Happy Saint Patricks Day!

like that towel hand accessory?
it's never out of my reach.
why?
because if my dog needs to leave the living room area rug, she has to walk assisted with the towel under her.
and she hates it.
but it helps support her back side and prevents any slipping.

5 days in.
me and my boxer girl are having lots of fun...

74/366

Today was full of this...
74.366
at least for Bella.
We had kind of a rough night last night.
And by rough I mean Sarah slept on the hard wood floor next to Bella's crate as she cried and our combined shut eye resulted in about 4.5 hours.
Is she spoiled?
Yes.
But in her defense, she has to sleep in a strange place
{bella rose hasn't been in a kennel for the last 2 years}
with a foreign plastic object around her neck.
{the cone of shame is a must unless she is being attentively watched. If she gets a hold of one of those staples, we're making an emergency vet run and could be back in surgery.}

I received a full synopsis of Bella's surgery from the Dr., including pictures.
{don't worry, I am not including the more 'medical' ones}
This was Bella's knee before:

This is the after:
march14.3
Huge improvement.
Pretty intense.
Ouch.

This is our pharmaceutical situation:
march14.2
So would I like to get some sleep tonight?
Yes.
But it's been an intense few days
and
Bella,
It's your recovery
you can cry if you want to.

She's home...
73.366
{and it's going to be a long 8 weeks}
She is rocking a nice new hair style
DSC_0003
and she loves her new jowl juice encrusted neck accessory.
DSC_0008
That was a joke.

I'm not quite sure what I expected as a recovery process,
but what lays ahead appears to be quite intense.
{there's a lot more blog action to come regarding recovery}
But I am thankful and happy to be here with the baby boxer bella.
Especially at times like this.

{besides being locked in a crate with an elizabethan collar, but you get the point}

Disney 2012: Part Two

On Tuesday we enjoyed some lunch and said 'adios' to our Minnie. We spent an afternoon lounging and then decided to get our learn on at a Mixology class. This syllabus included 4 special concoctions:
a Bahama Mama
a Blue Margarita
a Red Orchid
and a White Russian
Much like our previous class it turned out to be a terrific event. Our friends from Boston, Joe & Sharon, attended so it was basically a class reunion.
Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures during this occasion, but imagine an after party that included drinks, dinner, dueling pianos, & lots of laughter.
{as well as shared contact information and if I do recall, an invite to Cartagena}

Wednesday was a father|daughter day with Animal Kingdom as a destination. This park was new to me so it was exciting to be experiencing some Disney magic for the first time.

Thursday was our last full day and it was a gorgeous one, perfect for poolside. We spent the day lounging, listening to music, reading {finished The Psychopath Test... highly recommend} and chatting, all well catching some rays. We had dinner on the property and shared a wonderful bottle of red as we toasted to the wonderful week of vacation and memories made.

On Friday our flight didn't leave until the evening so we set out to see family that are in the area for the winter, my great grandmother, great aunt, and my father's cousin. It was wonderful to see everyone, especially my Great Grandma Sara, who looks as gorgeous as ever.

It was a whirlwind of a trip.
It's not often that you get to take 9 full days
spend it with your parents
and your bestie
enjoy the sun
try new things
visit the happiest place on earth
and get an education.

I know.
I'm one lucky girl.
