house tour || living space

I really enjoy looking back at photos from our first home in Beaumont, so I thought it would be fun to document the adventure of making this house a home.

There are also two more selfish reasons I choose to do this:

1. When I get overwhelmed and frustrated with how much needs to be done, it's a good reminder of how far we've come...
I should have taken pictures from move in day.

2. Taking pictures makes design issues blatantly obvious.
Please see above.

puzzle

Lauren has become quite the puzzle lover in the last month.

They are one of the first things she goes for in the playroom and provide a lot of entertainment for the both of us.

create

The moment my friends left, my mind went into project/create mode.

We've still got a lot to do in the house and all projects & progress seems to have been on hold since the holidays.

which reminds me, I still need to blog on the current state of affairs in this house

While I've been making lists & pinning away on Pinterest,

friendship

One week ago, I awoke with that kind of anxious happiness you feel right before something really fabulous and special is going to happen...

Super Bowl Smash

After watching the Super Bowl in Colombia for the last few years,
{no commercials or half time show. instead analyze the game in Spanish}
we thought a small gathering to celebrate football americana was important.

So we called some friends, made some appetizers. prepared cocktails, and Super Bowl partied.

The crowd favorite:
a bourbon cocktail called a smash.

When we were in Tennessee my mother served us a smash.
Both Matt and I loved and have been making ever since.
Correction.
Matt's been making, I've been enjoying.

It was such a hit amongst our friends, I thought you might be interested too.
