Happy Easter

Easter with two little gals is double the fun, especially when they wear the same dress.

Our Easter celebration started a week early with a couple of egg hunts. Lauren was much more interested in hunting for eggs this year. She wasn't quite as 'intense' as some of the older kiddos, but she enjoyed it so much, we continued to play it at home.

We also got a visit with the Easter Bunny.
Apparently Lauren is more comfortable with large animals that don't speak than she is with Jolly Mr. Claus.

We spent some time prepping for the celebration by making Easter inspired cookies and dying eggs.

that post nap hair... sigh.

Then the Easter bunny came.

We decided mid-week to cancel our brunch plans and spend the morning at home with our own at-home brunch menu.
This ended up being a good decision. This was confirmed as Lauren ran circles around us, burning some of that chocolate bunny energy, while we casually sipped mimosas.

And of course it wouldn't be Easter without that Texas tradition of the confetti-filled eggs...

and Big Sister is a fan of this tradition.
She hasn't stopped talking about the eggs all week.

We've hit a bit of a milestone.
We're one-fourth way through our first year with Sweet Baby Caroline.
While I've spoken to Father Time regarding some way to slow it on down,
I don't think my negotiating skills are that strong.

So, we will just enjoy....

At three months, our sweet girl is...

... so sweet. She smiles. We melt. She has a very sweet disposition and is pretty laid back.

... laid back unless mom eats something she doesn't like. I haven't quite figured it all out yet, but this little dolly has a bit of a sensitive stomach. Last week, while Grandma was visiting, Thank Goodness, we experienced a night of little to no sleep while Caroline kept us awake with her little tummy just a rumbling. Last night we had a similar experience. The only common denominator between the two was Diet Coke. Yep. My beloved. I had one Diet Coke with lunch the day of the first meltdown and a half of one yesterday on the way to Costco {left my coffee on the counter}. I'm starting to food journal for future reference, but I may be kicking my DC habit.

... a great sleeper. {when mom doesn't drink a Diet Coke} Depending on her mood, she can sometimes fight it a bit, but in general she is up one time during the night to eat and this Mama is totally okay with that schedule.

... a good side kick. We're on the go, out and about, doing different things during the week and Caroline has proven to be a wonderful member to our squad. Dance with sister, shopping, play dates, park visits, lunch... she hangs out and sometimes surprises me with how long she lasts.

... loving her hands, playing with rings, staring at her sister {or anyone, she's an intense gawker}, telling stories, and bringing us a daily dose of joyfulness we never knew we were missing.

Big sister wanted in on the photo with the blocks and I want to keep them each at the sweet little stage they are in.

Lauren's voice, vocabulary, and conversational skills make my heart swell
{although I could probably do without the dramatic fits}
and when Caroline looks into my eyes and smiles...
I feel like my heart could burst.

There is so much to love in that picture.
