house tour || bedrooms & upper level

Here's part two of our house tour.

I have to admit looking at these photos make me want to
choose some paint colors now
figure out what to put on these walls,
and make some progress.

a perfectly lovely {bunny filled} weekend

I love this time of year in Texas.
The days are warm, not hot.
You can spend the entire day outside, completely comfortable
and as the sun goes down you slip on a cardigan and enjoy the last moments of a perfect day.

Bliss.

But it doesn't last.

So we spent most of the weekend outside.

Great Grandma Sara

two weeks ago today, my great grandmother passed away.
grandmasara

While there is great sadness in imagining a world without her bright smile, quick wit, strong independence, and loving spirit,
she spent 95 beautiful years on this Earth and lived each one to it's fullest.

I have countless memories with Grandma Sara...
from summers spent with her at Hart Ranch
to comparing notes of our European travels.

But this is my favorite memory...

I am so grateful I was able to introduce her to Lauren.

This picture is in her baby book.
Because meeting your Great Great Grandma...

Well that is special.

RODEO

Still blogging about the Rodeo.

How is that possible you ask?
Because it's three weeks long.

Lauren has become quite interested in animals, particularly of a 'farm' nature and since we don't have a lot of access to anything but dogs,
the last weekend of the rodeo was calling us.

We started off with cows & tractors,
Untitled
We literally watched this 'steer' sell on television for $300,000, while we ate our breakfast.

made our way to the chickens,
Untitled

and then took it up a notch by entering the Petting Zoo.
Untitled

We took in a few other attractions, fed her the most unbalanced lunch she's had to date, and had her sleeping before we reached the truck.

Y'all....

I think it's safe to say we've got ourselves a rodeo fan.

The days of sunshine, cool nights, and tolerable temps are upon us.
It's officially Spring in SE Texas.

Georgie Porgie

pudding pie.

Two things:
1) Remember when I was pregnant with Lauren and we called her, George
Each time I hear George I think of that...
I wonder how long that will last?

2) We've had some rainy inside weather lately,
so in the spirit of keeping this busy toddler occupied,
we made pudding.

Which lead to Lauren trying pudding for the first time.
Which brings us here...

Rodeo Rundown

We became a little bit more Texan this weekend and attended the Houston Rodeo.

When we lived in Beaumont, we attended the BBQ Cook-off, which kicks off the rodeo, all three years that we were residents.
But this was our first official rodeo...
which explains why I didn't fully understand the concept.

During the three weeks of the rodeo, a concert is held every night.
There is rides.
And lots of fried food.
Sounds like a fair to me.

So that's what I thought it was.
Maybe you walk through some livestock and during the day some medals are given for showing sheep?
But since we're in Texas, instead of calling it a 'fair' we call it a 'rodeo'.

I was wrong.
It's a rodeo.
