I'm back.

One would think that after a year and a half, the chaos that is Cartagena would no longer phase me.
But it does.
It always takes a few days to acclimatize oneself back to the local customs, including lack of personal space, budging in line, and an overall slow pace.
The language is a different story.

Matt and I enjoyed lunch in the Old City, I unpacked, and then we prepared for a new cultural experience, our first Colombian wedding.

We were invited to attend the wedding of Matt's colleague and his bride, a girl from Cartagena.  The invitation instructed that the dress code for women was a long dress and Guayabera for men.  This is also known as a "Mexican Wedding Shirt".  Matt sported a white linen shirt paired with some linen pants in true Guaybera fashion.

Matt heard that weddings are the only thing in Colombia that start on time.
This was not true.

The ceremony took place in a beautiful church in the Old City.
Unfortunately this beautiful church in the Old City was not air conditioned,
which made the full Catholic mass, in Spanish, feel a bit long.

Our evening continued at the reception with champagne toasts, dinner, and salsa dancing.

Unfortunately, as gringos, we can't salsa dance,
so our evening ended early.

{word is the reception went until 4:00 am...}
