99/366: Easter Edition

happy easter!

we enjoyed a lovely holiday weekend at 'The Pour House' filled with sun, swimsuits, laughter, food, dogs, & cocktails.

the Schoenfelder's appreciate tradition.
but sometimes traditions must evolve with the times...
which is why as adults we still have an easter egg hunt.
with a twist.

eggs are dyed and a number is placed on each egg
the number corresponds directly with a dollar amount
which is determined by mom & dad.
when we wake we find our traditional easter baskets
and begin the egg hunt.
we take turns finding one egg, from oldest to youngest.
each child has a total of four eggs to find
{this year an additional egg was added with some non cash prizes}
after each egg has been discovered we have the opportunity to switch eggs with one another
and finally, the numbers are revealed
one by one we call out a number and are presented with our prize
it is intense.

here we are preparing to hunt...
99.366
the ears were in our easter baskets
yes, we are a special group

although matt could not be with us, he was there in spirit and played along with us
he had his own 4 eggs to discover
{have I mentioned I miss that boy? 6 weeks mas.}

I felt good about winning the $100 egg.
so good I had already spent it in my head... here.
but my feelings were off.
go figure.
easter
after tyler found this egg hidden in a cooler i literally said,
"ooohhh.... i have a good feeling about that egg"
i guess i should have traded.

i can't complain, I did quite well and walked away with the $50 egg and a total of $90
matt didn't fare as well
he ended up with two of the non-cashmoney prizes,
a chocolate bunny
a PEZ dispenser
and a $10 bill.
however, he stated he would much prefer the candy over money
{homesick for american candy much?}
