I can't say there was one thing that made this Christmas so magical...
Was it Lauren, saying "ho, ho" & opening her own gifts with lots of little 'ooohhs'?
Could it be celebrating as a family of 4 {bella too} for the first time in our new home?
Obviously being in the US had something to do with it.
Whatever it was, it all came together to create a beautiful, magical, memorable Christmas.
Here's some highlights:
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
We spent the day playing with many many toys & hosted Christmas dinner with our favorite ex-Colombian family, The Alexanders.
Road Trip to Tennessee
See this:
This is Lauren's playhouse from Grandpa & Grandma Schoenfelder.
There's a story about this playhouse.
On our road trip home, this playhouse was in a box in the back of the truck. We left early early early in the morning, around 4 am.
At about 6:30 am {Lauren and I were both sleeping}, I woke up to a slam of the brakes and a big boom. The castle was not behind us, in the middle of the interstate. Somehow mostly still in the box, besides a couple large pieces.
Matt pulled over and then acted as the knight he is and ran onto the interstate to save the castle. We repacked the truck, tying down the castle, and checked it several times throughout our trip home. Thankfully we were up early, early, early, in the morning and the interstate was empty, no one was hurt, and the castle was safe.
Christmas 2014.
It was perfect.
We soaked up the magic through our daughters eyes,
played with a lot of Disney princesses,
ate & drank merrily,
took too few photos,
laughed too hard at family game night,
and made memories that will last a lifetime.
Is it too early to say I'm excited for next Christmas?
