47 weeks
We've been keeping our little 47 weeker busy.
We arrived home from a lovely wedding weekend in Omaha on Sunday evening and took the first flight out for Knoxville on Monday morning for a Labor Day holiday week of family, fun, and lake time.

Lauren's Day Out
Earlier this week, we packed up the diaper bag and made our way downtown for a morning visit to the Childrens Museum.
I've heard some great things about the museum, including the Tot Spot, a designated area for babes 0-24 months.
We picked up our friends, The Alexanders, mom Alice and little guy Archie. You may recall me mentioning them in Colombia, but lucky for us, they have relocated to Houston.
We had a wonderful morning/afternoon and both kiddos and mama's were in heaven.
There was so much to do and each of our littles enjoyed playing, exploring, and interacting.
{I realized this little girl loves herself a mirror. I can't imagine where she gets that from...}
This is the only picture I got of both Lauren and Archie. Archie moves fast.
It was such a great morning and I left loving being able to see Lauren have so much fun and thankful that I live in an area where we have these kind of opportunities: no children's museums in Cartagena.
And as my daughter fell asleep before I pulled out of the parking garage, I found myself wishing I had one fourth of the space, toys, and padded areas that the Childrens Museum did.
But I don't.
So we'll be back.

As I set up to take this picture and lured Lauren with her dolly Lola, she took four steps to the chair.
I don't know if it's baby book official yet... but we are sooooooo close.

A Girl's Weekend: Run the World Tour
Beyonce & Jay Z are an epic power couple and I'm an huge fan of both...
I mean, who isn't?
As I playback the soundtrack of my life, there is a healthy dose of both artists singing background for some amazing memories.
Especially with these two:
So when the idea got thrown out to see them perform in Chicago, a fabulous girls weekend was set.
This was my first 'weekend' away from Lauren.
I use the term weekend loosely as it was a Thursday - Saturday trip. While Matt stayed back, in order to care for Lauren during the day, he would have had to take two days off. When I discussed our dilemma with my parents, they graciously offered to come down and care for the little bird.
And while it was hard to leave, seeing Lauren all smiles for her Grandpa & Grandma made me feel a lot better.
The show was amazing.
Our seats left a little to be desired as we could only identify the silhouettes of both J & B.
But we knew it was them.
And I screamed like a 12 year old girl, because it was them.
Some other highlights of the weekend:
Riding shotgun on Misty's Vespa
Spending some QT with this baby girl and her mama
and getting updates on this girl, including a little FaceTime
Great music, amazing friends, fabulous memories...
but what takes the cake?
Someday I get to tell my daughter that the first time I left her was to attend the Jay Z & Beyonce concert...
I'm going to go ahead and brush my shoulders off now.

10 months
At 10 months, Lauren Elizabeth McQuinn...
... is full of energy, laughter, and screams.
A high pitched shrill little scream.
It can be heard during dinner, at the grocery store, or anytime L needs a little extra attention.
...cruises around the furniture, walks with her Minnie airplane, but there has been no steps unassisted. We think she's really close.
... loves to mimic. She's got Mama's "Good Morning" and "Hi" tone down. She can also be seen giving high fives and waving bye bye at random times too.
... is loving her some Bella. She loves to be near her, chase her around, and watch her play. We think Bella may be the one to get Lauren to walk.
She even makes a little "b" sound that we translate as "Bella".
...eats any and all fruits and is down with most vegetables. Is all about hummus, crackers, and cheese. Girl after my own heart.
... still loves to read, both by herself and with mom and dad. Enjoys her dolly Lola, playing with the princesses, and can't get enough of the water, bath time or pool time.
... remains toothless.
