Happy 4th of July!
For the last three years The McQuinn's have spent the 4th of July in Colombia, dreaming of cheeseburgers, parades, apple pies, fireworks, and flags of red, white, & blue.
For the last three years, the 4th has been just another day.
Sometimes we went to Carula and bought the 'skunky' Bud Light that had been imported to celebrate a little piece of home.
One year Matt got to celebrate with a barbecue at work with grilled burgers and mini pies.
But for some reason, no matter how you attempt to celebrate, not being in the US to celebrate the US, makes you a little bit homesick.
But this year, this year, we're celebrating America in America and we're excited.
While we don't have any over the top plans, we will be eating grilled cheeseburgers, watching fireworks, and right now our home is full of the smell of apple pies baking. I'm excited about all of that, but what I am most excited about...
Lauren's first 4th of July will be celebrated in The United States.
God Bless America.
