This weekend I attempted to make risotto for the first time.
The recipe called for white wine.
Which is when my predicament began.
The Colombian wine opener snapped.
Leaving me awaiting for the arrival of my handsome husband.
Said handsome husband used his construction experience to
finagle a way to get some wine.
First with a hammer.
Which got the swirly part out, but still left us with a cork.
Then he took an additional wine opener
{from Napa Valley that I literally cannot use. Every time I try
I push the cork inside the wine bottle rather than pull it out}
and used it with the hammer.
Success.
This is what it took to get the wine open so we could eat our dinner.
He really is quite the handy man.
